Summer Trends 2017....
Colour of the season - Fuschia. Also Hot Pink and Raspberry have been seen across the catwalks. There is nothing subtle about this colour. These shades look best on people with a cool undertone to their skin, and as this is a bright colour, those with very striking eyes also.
Not for the fainthearted, so for bold personalities try a top or dress, and others may prefer an accessory.
Shoe of the season - Kitten heel. These in-betweenies have rarely been seen in recent decades. But they have resurfaced on the feet of the stylish French and Italian ladies, so are immediately de rigueur. Often more comfortable than a sky high stiletto, and offers a more formal look than a flat. Try with dresses or skirts to show them off at their best as trousers can swamp their delicate style.
Trend of the season - 80's baby!
This trend is strictly for the evening and is a full on version. Think metallic dresses, nipped in waists, huge shoulders and big earrings. To make this trend wearable try one piece - a large belt to define a waist, a vintage brooch, slogan t-shirt, or metallic bag.
Print of the season - Graphic stripes or all-over Florals
The stripes are big and bold, no delicate pinstripes here! Think vintage parasols and sunloungers in bold colours and you're there! To avoid looking like a beach accessory, keep the look to one item and pair with a neutral or choose a colour and use tones of that colour in your look as above.
The Florals seen were akin to '60's and '70's dresses and interior design prints of those eras. Often seen in lightweight chiffon fabrics, ensure the item follows your contours. If not, find a more structured fabric. For the head to toe look, keep accessories to a minimum for maximum impact.
Fabric of the season - Tulle
Sheer fabrics and Tulle have adorned many catwalks. Team a sheer dress with a vest top or t-shirt and jeans for dressed down, or a skirt and heels for dressed up. For a real impact look out for the true Ballerina tulle skirts, great as a petticoat under a flared dress!
Bag of the season - Mini
The Mini bag may not be the most practical everyday bag, but might be ideal for an evening out. As the scale of our accessories can make us appear bigger / smaller than we are, for the best effect match your size of bag to your overall frame. A mini bag is best suited to a petite lady and would look lost on very tall lady.
